This new all steel fan shroud is for 55-57 Chevy Passenger cars that have a stock V8 radiator support but the radiator has been moved to the front side of the radiator support (closer to the grille) using conversion adapter plates. It is a very common conversion that people would take their original V8 radiator and move it to the front side using flat steel adapter plates (not included) to gain more clearance for the fan and pulleys. If you are not sure, you can send me a picture or two of your radiator support and I can verify that this is the correct shroud for your application. Please ask questions if you are not sure. This shroud has an 18-3/4 inch opening so you can fit up to a 17 inch fan and allow room for engine movement. Mounting hardware is included.
An original V8 radiator support will have the original radiator mounting brackets pointing towards the engine and those brackets is what this shroud bolts to, so they must still be intact.
An original 6 cylinder radiator support has the original radiator mounting brackets pointing towards the grille.
The actual radiator mounting adapter plates are NOT included.
