This is a restored original 1955 Chevrolet car (1st design) left drivers side door latch. This latch will work on most 1955-1957 Chevy 2 door, 4 door and wagons left front door, but is only period correct for early production 1955's. (see note below for fitment exclusions). This latch has been restored to like original condition. The latch has had all the springs removed and painted, the latch was glass beaded down to completely clean raw metal, painted bright silver, reassembled, fully lubed and tested. This latch is ready to install. These original latches are much stronger and made with thicker steel materials then the new foreign made reproduction latches.
Door latches are not all the same depending on your exact body type and trim model and there was 2 different designs on early 55 models. See pictures to determine if you have the early 1st design type strikers. (The strikers are not included). This latch will work on all 1955 models with either type of strikers.

This latch does NOT fit the following models:
Does NOT fit: 1956-1957 4 door Hardtop (pillarless)
Does NOT fit: 1956 Bel Air 2 door Hardtop and Convertible
