This is a new 1955-1964 Chevrolet Car, Corvette, Truck, Bel Air, Biscayne and Impala rear end axle or oil pan drain plug with gasket. This fits all stock rear ends and all 6 cylinder or V8 stock steel oil pans. Most 55-56 Chevy rear ends did not have a drain plug on them. If your 55-56 Chevy has a rear end drain plug, then somebody added it or you may have a 1957 housing. Sku #11245
